This City Stopped Being Somewhere I Was Visiting

"First sign you've lived in Bucharest too long: you don't get annoyed in traffic anymore."

A guest wrote that during a game at our 3rd Space Bucharest Portraits & Prosecco party last night. Everyone laughed.

I laughed too. Then it hit me that it was about me.

How Bucharest Traffic Stopped Driving Me Crazy

My first two years here, Bucharest traffic drove me crazy. Horns. Double-parked cars. 30 minutes to go 2 km.

Now? I barely notice.

Somewhere along the way, this city stopped being somewhere I was visiting and became home.

Living Abroad Will Quietly Change You

That's the part of living abroad nobody warns you about. You don't just adapt to a place. It quietly changes you.

Last night I stood in a room with 30 people laughing at riddles and fill-in-the-blank answers, and seeing people making friends with strangers.

Five years ago I couldn't have pictured any of it.

Life Abroad Will Surprise You With Who You Become

Life abroad isn't always easy. But it's never boring. And it'll surprise you with who you become.

Thanks to my co-host Ioana Ioanăș, Angelos Fragkos, and Mirela Mateescu for making last night possible.

A Party That Turned Headshots Into an Experience

And thanks to everyone who attended who helped turn a "what if everyone got a free headshot while at the party" idea into reality and launch one of the most memorable 3rd Space Portraits & Prosecco parties yet!

Strangers Became Friends Over Riddles and Prosecco

A room full of strangers became a room full of people laughing at riddles, sharing stories, and walking away with professional headshots. The combination of icebreaker games and prosecco broke down the usual walls you see at networking events.

That's what 3rd Space is built for. Not forced networking. Not awkward small talk. Just curious people meeting other curious people.

Tickets for our next 3rd Space social are now on sale. Visit our website to grab them before they sell out.
