What I’m Up To
This is my now page, a quick look at what I’m focused on these days.

3rd Space Bucharest
I’m running a small experiment in Bucharest called 3rd Space Bucharest. These are cocktail-style gatherings designed for one thing: making it easy for people to actually connect. Small groups of 20-25 people. Relaxed local venues. Name tags, light icebreakers, short attendee-led stories. No networking angle, no dating pitch, no pressure. Just real human interaction.
Without any promotion, we hit about 60% capacity for our first event. That told me something: people are hungry for this. We don’t need bigger networks. We need better places to meet.
Connections with Eric
I’m 13 episodes into my podcast, Connections with Eric. Recent episodes have covered everything from my detox from digital addiction to having dinner with five strangers through Timeleft to why icebreakers are a secret weapon for making parties work. I also did an episode on the 85-year Harvard study on happiness that completely shifted my priorities from career wins to relationships and being a present father.
There’s a thread running through all of it. When I was younger, I thought the game was about career wins and financial freedom. Those things matter. But they don’t even crack my top three anymore. What matters most is being a great dad and staying close with the people who make me feel alive.
Where My Head Is
I’ve been thinking a lot about time. I did the math recently: if I live another 30 years and see my closest friends about two days a year, that’s 60 days total. Meanwhile, I’m on track to spend thousands of days on my phone. That hit me hard. So I’m making shifts. Less time feeding algorithms. More check-in calls, more voice notes, more actual plans.
I’ve also been sitting with a question that I wrote about recently: how do you fulfill your potential? My answer has changed. I used to think I needed to find my purpose first. Now I just move. I follow the ideas that itch, especially the ones that help other people. That approach has led me to launch a kids’ fitness program, teach as an adjunct professor, interview European tech founders, and help B2B podcasters land sponsorships. None of it was part of a master plan. It was just the next step forward.
I’m a Houston kid living in Romania with two kids of my own. Everything I do comes back to the same core values: courage, curiosity, and community. I want people to feel more seen, more energized, and less alone.
